The 2024 Honda Prologue electric crossover goes on sale in March with an estimate range of 296 miles and a starting price of $48,795, including a $1,395 destination fee, Honda announced Thursday.
Honda’s first electric crossover is offered in single- and dual-motor models, with the top Elite trim priced at just under $60,000. The more luxurious but mechanically related 2024 Acura ZDX starts at $64,500.
The Prologue is priced at least $5,000 higher than established rivals such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volkswagen ID.4, though it is the Chevy Blazer EV whose platform it shares.
EX, Touring, and Elite trim levels will be offered, with the Elite coming standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive.
Every Prologue comes with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection front and rear, active lane control, blind-spot monitors with steering assist, and adaptive cruise control.
The single-motor, front-wheel-drive system on the base EX makes 212 hp and 236 lb-ft and has an EPA-rated range of 296 miles on its 19-inch wheels. Standard features include heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, a satellite radio trial, a wireless smartphone charger, and wireless smartphone compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
With dual-motor all-wheel-drive, the EX costs $3,000 more, at $51,795. The dual-motor system makes 288 hp and 333 lb-ft, and the range drops to 281 miles.
The Touring model starts at $53,095 for FWD and $56,095 for AWD. It has a panoramic sunroof and other additional features.
Top Elite models with standard AWD cost $59,295, and driving range drops to 273 miles. It has perforated leather upholstery, accent stitching, a heated steering wheel, cooled front seats, and Bose audio.
The Honda Prologue will be able to fast-charge at 155 kw, to get its 85-kwh battery pack from 20-80% in 35 minutes.
