1984-’88 Ford Mustang/Mercury Capri T-Top trip panels and key lock bezels

NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT ● 800-874-7595 ● NPDLINK.COM ● $17.95 (BEZEL LOCK); $99.95 (TRIM PANEL)

With four decades having passed since the first of the 1984-’88 Mustangs hit the streets, it’s very possible their inner T-top trim panels are now worn out, cracked, or even missing entirely. You can correct that now with new panels that are based on the original Ford part numbers and finished with the correct dimensions, style, texture, and mounting holes as they were from the assembly line. The finishing trim pieces fit over the locking mechanism handles and are finished in black with the option to paint to match your interior. Also available are the lock bezels that are installed onto each trim panel to go around the lock cylinder. Keep in mind the trim does not include the correct handle seals on the inside, but if you need to replace those, NPD has them available as well. Ask about p/n M-519B80-1AP (trim) and M-500A78-1AP (bezel lock) for more information.

Retro-Fit Instruments For C2 Corvette

CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS ● 800-575-0461 ● CLASSICINSTRUMENTS.COM ● $1,950 (SPEEDO & TACH); $2,450 (FULL)

Electronic service packages are now available for the instrument panel in your second-generation Corvette. For those looking for something between a direct-fit kit and complete custom offerings, this option might be what you’ve been searching for. Each package takes your existing parts and fits them with stock-styled gauges and pointers; this includes maintaining the unique cone-shaped dial faces for the ’63-’64 models. The new assemblies use Classic Instruments’ ZST Speedometer circuit board, which plugs into your Corvette’s engine harness, or—for later models—the electronic engine management unit. There are also direct plug-ins for accessories such as the Sky Drive sensor for GPS applications. All necessary sending units are installed with no extra modules needed and turnaround time is usually within four weeks of all parts received. Other options (for an added cost) include clocks, Holley Easy Level Fuel Sender, Fuel-link Fuel Interface, and more. For more details, inquire about p/n CO63CUS (’63-’64) and CO65CUS (’65-’67) and look for examples of past work on Classics’ website.

1970-’72 Buick GSX Front Chin Spoiler

ORIGINAL PARTS GROUP ● 800-243-8355 ● OPGI.COM ● $192.99

Buick’s unmistakable GSX brought performance and muscle to the forefront and among the many styling cues to back that up was the front chin spoiler. These replacement GSX spoilers are made of strong fiberglass as opposed to the plastic pieces that were more susceptible to damage on the original 1970-’72 GSXs. The reproduction spoilers are mounted below the front bumper just like the originals. Recommended for stock locations or slightly lowered stances, ask about p/n S240010 for full details.

Thread-Chaser Tap Bits

AUTOMOTIVE RACING PRODUCTS ● 800-826-3045 ● ARP-BOLTS.COM ● $148.99/5-PIECE SET

When working on an engine rebuild, it’s important to have the proper preparation on the block, cylinder heads, and other components, and this includes threaded fastener holes. Debris can cause issues and improper fastening, which is where these “chaser” taps come in. Note that they are not designed to cut threads, but rather, to clean them. They will clean the various dirty blind- or through-holes that you will encounter during engine projects, facilitating your final assembly. The expanded lineup of available taps covers more than 20 different sizes in both SAE and metric, plus combination sets are available for the more popular sizes. The five-piece combo-set includes sizes from ¼- to ½-inch; sets are available at various distributors. Ask about p/n 911-0006 for more details.
