Gorgeous Classic Cars Take to the Streets in the 2024 Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance

Every year the sleepy, seaside village of Monterey, California awakens to the thunder of over 100 years’ worth of classic vehicles. Every combination of cylinders imaginable – as well as a few Wankel rotors – is accounted for and the sights and sounds are unmatched. The tour kicked off at 9:00am Thursday morning and everything from luxury exotics, to pre-war restorations and survivors, and even a few prototypes, took to the road for a 70 mile ride down scenic Highway 1. While vehicles of this pedigree, grandeur, and value would seemingly be perma-bonded to the Pebble Beach lawn, the tour offers two benefits; a chance to prove that after nearly a century, many of these lovingly maintained vintage rides are still roadworthy, and a chance to tip the odds in the owner’s favor in Sunday’s concourse. “A car that successfully completes the Tour gets the nod if it later ties in class competition at the Concours,” according to the Pebble rules.
